Something Cool is on the Way

Last week at the TCEA conference in Austin, this brave group of 30 souls gave something new a trial run.

It's not yet open to the public, but for now here's the news: in a few months it's going to become a lot easier to create really high quality WebQuests. Not cookie-cutter, fill-in-the-blank low level WebQuests, but the Real Thing.

Stay tuned.

Are you looking for any more testers? I have several teachers creating web quests and it would be great to become a part of your project.

Free from the time of rollout (late June) to the end of 2005. Then probably something like $20 for a 2-year subscription. It's not just code to be open-sourced. It's an ongoing service and community of practice.

That is interesting..
I have been using webquests with my students in Iceland since 1998 and it is an exellent way of introducing teachers to on-line activites.

I have downloaded Antonio´s phpwebquest to my site, here it is

At the Tree of Life Biology Project,
www.tolweb.org
we have just put out free and easy to use web-based tools for creating WebQuests (and other webpages) that get posted as learning materials on our site. The stipulation is that the WebQuest be in some way about an organism (some living thing on earth). It is easy to add resource links and format the WebQuest. The final product gets linked to from our WebQuest page and from a scientist created page for the organism(s) that the WebQuest is about.

Am a Spanish teacher with some very creative students. Would like to test any materials that you might like to share.
